Our United Way Campaign
Our service projects included a Donation Campaign for United Way; packing “meal kits” for needy school children; serving meals to the homeless; and “adopting” 3 families (with a combined total of 8 children) for the holidays…and, we will proudly continue serving the community in the new year!
The United Way Campaign at DPI Toledo took place from October 28-November 8, 2019.
According to United Way of Greater Toledo, there are 2,000 homeless students in the Toledo Public School District….the most in any Ohio school district.
Our financial gifts help United Way surround those students, and our community, with critical supports in Education; Financial Stability; and Health Initiatives.
Connecting Kids to Meals
On November 22, 2019, 6 DPI associates joined over 500 other volunteers and helped the United Way and Connecting Kids to Meals pack 3,000 meal kits for kids in need over the Thanksgiving holiday!
Serving at the Cherry Street Ministries Life Revitalization Center
During the first 2 weeks of December, 32 DPI Associates volunteered a total of 17.5 hours serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Cherry Street Mission Mac Street Café.
Cherry Street Ministries is the largest organization serving low-income and homeless men, women, and children in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
They serve over 400 people every day.
DPI Toledo’s “Adopt-A-Family” for the Holidays!
Our thoughtful and generous DPI Toledo employees provided Christmas gifts, cash donations, canned goods, and toiletries for
3 families, including 8 children, through the United Way’s “Adopt-A-Family” Program.
The “Adopt-A-Family” program provides financial health and human service support to Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa County’s labor community that has proven to be 30 days without income.
Because of the generosity of our local community, on average, 118 children and 43 families are served over the holidays.
